Grocer Whole Foods Sells Designer Bags

from National Public Radio
July 20, 2007

Whole Foods stores in several cities were mobbed with customers lining up to buy limited edition canvas bags printed with: "I'm not a plastic bag." They're designed by a top fashion designer, Anya Hindmark, whose bags usually sell for more than $1,500. Whole Foods is limiting her bags to three per customer. Hopefully that will limit the hysteria, too. A similar offer at a store in Taiwan last month caused a stampede of shoppers. The riot police were called in, and 30 would-be buyers were hospitalized.
