Retooling Minnesota's Job Factory

The recession's impact on jobs projections, 2006-2008

The Bureau of Labor Statistics 10-year employment outlook showed significant differences from the 2006-16 version, compiled before the downturn, and the 2008-2018 version, compiled during the recesion.

Health, education and professional services are projected to produce more jobs than forecast in the 2006 projection, while manufacturing, finance, real estate and residential construction are now projected to have less growth than forecast in 2006.
