The Island Park levee in Fargo rises to a height of more than 40 feet. The River is expected to crest at 41 feet. The Red River is already reaching the clearance height of the Burlington Northern railroad and the Highway 75/Main Avenue bridges, seen here from the Moorhead shore of the river.

The Fargodome in Fargo has turned into a massive sandbag-making machine. Thousands of volunteers are bagging tons of sand to help area residents keep the Red River at bay. The city will produce more than 2 million sandbags.
