Terrorism: the long war

In a forthcoming plan for re-shaping the military, the Defense Department argues that America needs to get used to a new kind of war: "the long war." But speaking Thursday at the National Press Club in Washington, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said the war on terror, like the Cold War, will eventually end.
