Preventing medical errors

The state is launching a new effort to improve health care in Minnesota Tuesday. The goal of the new program is to reduce medical errors in Minnesota and eventually, help Minnesotans determine which hospitals are doing the best job in preventing such errors. We hear a speech from Dr. Atul Gawande, who warns against getting our hopes up too high. He says too often the health care system promises more than it can deliver. He spoke last spring at the Commonwealth Club of California.
