Darren Korb is in charge of audio and music for Supergiant Games, an indie studio assembled of a group of old childhood friends. Supergiant's first endeavor, Bastion, was a much-needed breath of fresh air into the game industry, with its bright colors, "simple" art style and innovative storytelling.
Korb's Bastion soundtrack will always be a favorite of mine, and his new music for Supergiant's Transistor is rapidly climbing to the top of my list.
Transistor's soundtrack positively capitalizes on the success of Korb's songwriting and Ashley Barrett's vocals. The music mostly abandons the innocent acoustic sounds of Bastion for the gritty and bold sounds of electric guitar.
Hear Darren Korb talk about making music for Transistor in an extended episode about him and his music.
