Music with Minnesotans: Dan Hulitt

St. Paul, Minn. — Dan Hulitt made the switch from academia to wholesale foods. He's a national buyer for SuperValu. He's also a photographer and a furniture maker (click "View full slideshow" at right to see the pieces Dan made for his kitchen).

While his playlist is Beethoven-centric, it also contains a large portion of family pride — Hulitt's two sons are musicians.

Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 (excerpt) Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Osmo Vanska. Bis 1416

Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 5 (excerpt) Royal Philharmonic conducted by Andre Previn and pianist, Emmanuel Ax. Sound Dimension 55267

Copland: Quiet City with the English Symphony Orchestra conducted by William Boughton. Nimbus 7037

Bach: Solo Cello Suite in G "Prelude" with guitarist Andre Segovia. London 10413

Francesco Sartori & Lucio Quarantotto: Time to Say Goodbye sung by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. EMI 56511

Next week: Sherilyn and Andrew Burgdorf met when she agreed to accompany his cello recital. She still plays and conducts. He's now a doctor. Sparks still fly when they talk about their favorite music.
