Music with Minnesotans: Joe Chvala

May 6, 2014

St. Paul, Minn. — The director of Flying Foot Forum, Joe Chvala has been described as "Fred Astaire on speed." A dancer, choreographer and director, Chvala's company has performed all over the world.

Closer to home, Joe will be the choreographer for the Guthrie Theater's production of My Fair Lady this summer. His playlist is an inspiration!

John Bennett: "All Creatures Now Are merry Minded" sung by Laudibus led by Michael Brewer. Hyperion 67076

Copland: The Tender Land "Stomp Your Foot Upon the Floor" with the Plymouth Music Series conducted by Philip Brunelle. Virgin Classics 91113

Sondheim: Into the Woods "No One Is Alone" original Broadway cast recording. RCA 6796

Lerner and Loewe: My Fair Lady "I Could Have Danced All Night" original Broadway cast recording. Sony 89997

Next Week: Dan Hulitt knows meat. He's a national buyer for Supervalu. Dan's playlist is a mix of family pride (both his sons are musicians) and the heroic.
