Take Classical MPR's host voice quiz!

March 26, 2014

St. Paul, Minn. — How well do you recognize the voices of Classical MPR's hosts?

As part of MPR's Member Appreciation Week, we've devised this fun quiz. Try it out to test your ear!

Maybe you listen all the time and could pick out Steve Staruch's voice amid the din of a jumbo jet's takeoff. Or perhaps you listen all the time but are equally enchanted by all the voices on the air, but you couldn't necessarily name their owners. Then again, maybe you're somewhere in between.

This quiz is by no means scientific, but it's a fun way to test your ear and find out which Classical MPR hosts you can identify.

We've carefully selected the clips in this quiz so that the audio samples don't specifically reference music. It might be too easy if you heard the hosts naming composers and performers!

These excerpts are taken from actual broadcasts. Press the play button to listen to the clip, then click on the name of the host you think you've just heard.

When you're finished, feel free to share your results in the comments below. You can also share the link to this page through your Facebook or Twitter accounts: Challenge your friends to match your score.

Good luck, and have fun!
