St. Paul, Minn. — Tim Sheie is an artist, a retired educator and has spent the last 12 years "in the back row," in the bass section of the National Lutheran Choir. His playlist is filled with choral gems inspired by his Norwegian heritage.

Traditional: Wedding March from Valsoyfjord, sung by the Norwegian Soloists Choir. BIS 1871

Robert Pearsall: Lay a Garland, sung by Musica Intima. ATMA 227

Traditional (arr: David Cherwin): Now All the Woods Are Sleeping sung by the National Lutheran Choir led by David Cherwin. NLCA 3211

Mark Isham: "Build This House With Me" from the film score "Life as a House." Varese Sarabande 6297

Traditional: Laulua Lopettessa, sung by Rajaton. Boundless Records 101

Gabriel Faure: Apres un Reve with Mischa Maisky, cello and Daria Horvora, piano. DG 457 657

Next week: Sally Howell Johnson is a pastor and writer. Her Welsh singing heritage and her embrace of Celtic spirituality inform her sweet-sounding playlist.
