When Dennis Scholl was a leadership fellow at Harvard University in 2012, he and his colleagues completed research that showed the connection between cultural activity and people's feelings of being connected to their communities.
Scholl, now Vice President for Arts at the Knight Foundation, says it's with that idea in mind that the Knight Arts Challenge seeks to fund projects that can help benefit the people of South Florida.
Speaking to Classical South Florida's Julie Amacher, Scholl outlined the application process for a Knight Arts Grant and when the applications are due. He also describes a few arts-related projects that have already been funded by the Knight Foundation and are currently enriching the lives of South Floridians.
