Roseville police say shooting began with ruse
Police say the man who shot his wife's co-worker before turning the gun on himself in Roseville may have been motivated by a suspected extramarital affair.
Roseville police said Cheng Vang, 44, may have concocted a ruse to lure Joseph Yang, 33, to a parking area behind a building that housed several businesses. Both men died yesterday of their injuries.
A surveillance camera captured Cheng Vang and his wife Yong Vang, 35, driving into the parking lot behind CPI Card Group on Prior Ave. near County Road B2, where both Yong Vang and Yang worked.
Police say Yang was shot multiple times while holding some paperwork, which may have been a pretext by Cheng Vang to draw Yang to the meeting. Cheng Vang then shot himself. He died later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Following the shooting, police said Yong Vang came to her husband's aid. She wasn't injured, and police don't consider her a suspect or accessory to the killing.
A semi-automatic pistol was found near Cheng Vang's body. Police said he bought the firearm legally in May 2013.
The Vangs lived in Roseville. Yang lived in Brooklyn Park.
Roseville police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are still investigating the incident.
