Big day for college hockey in Minn.
by Phil Picardi, Minnesota Public RadioST. PAUL, Minn. — The undefeated University of Minnesota women's hockey team plays Boston College Friday at 5 p.m. for a chance to play for a second straight national championship.
The other "Frozen Four" semifinal pits Boston University against Mercyhurst. The Gophers have a record of 39-0 this season.
The Gopher men begin tournament play in the WCHA Friday at 7 p.m. against Colorado College. St. Cloud State plays Wisconsin in the other semifinal at 2 p.m. The winners meet for the conference championship.
This is the U of M's final season in the WCHA conference. Next season the school will move to the Big-Ten.
