Legislation that would allow same-sex marriage in Minnesota appears to be moving forward. On Sunday, state Sen. Scott Dibble, D-Mpls, told WCCO that he plans to introduce a bill this week. Sen. Branden Petersen, R-Andover, recently stated his willingness to co-sponsor such legislation.

Some legislators appear to be more in favor of legislation regarding civil unions or extension of benefits to same-sex partnerships. In November, Minnesotans turned down a ballot measure to put language banning same-sex marriage into the state constitution.
