February 21, 2013

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Good'Pellas(think GoodFellas... or Good a capellas), a choral group from Roseville Area High School, have been around since 2000, and have been making acclaimed performances from the Twin Cities to the national stage.

In the past, the ensemble have performed a wide variety of repertoire, including pieces by Ivan Hruvsky, Moses Hogan and Grammy-winner Rene Clausen.

Here, in a recording from December 20, 2012, they perform Gaudete (traditional, arr. Brian Kay) and Set Me As A Seal (Rene Clausen). They'll also be broadcast on Classical MPR at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, on Thursday, February 21, 2013.

Director Dean Jilek says, "I have witnessed student's lives change due to this group. Many students ... develop friendships that last forever and find a positive path in their life."
