Freshmen lawmakers get a feel for the Capitol
by Tom Crann, Minnesota Public RadioST. PAUL, Minn. — To get a sense of how Minnesota's newest legislators see the action at the Capitol, MPR News speaks with a pair of freshmen lawmakers throughout the session.
Rep. Raymond Dehn, D-Dist. 59B, is a design consultant by trade, whose area encompasses most of downtown Minneapolis and part of the city's north side.
Rep. Marion O'Neill, R-Dist. 29B, is a small business owner from Buffalo and represents Minnesotans in the northeastern exurbs around Maple Lake and Monticello.
Both lawmakers say they are getting used to the long hours of floor sessions, committee meetings, and talking to their constituents.
