Job openings in Minn. drop in January
by Annie Baxter, Minnesota Public RadioST. PAUL, Minn. — Job openings posted online in Minnesota dropped this month, according to the latest report from The Conference Board.
The research group says Minnesota help wanted ads posted online fell by 2,800 in January. Nationally, online job postings rose by about 107,000.
However, there are fewer unemployed people chasing every job opening in Minnesota than there are nationally.
For every 10 job postings there are 14 unemployed Minnesotans. Nationally, it's more like 25 unemployed people competing for every 10 openings.
