Obama holds White House news conference

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama will hold the last news conference of his first term at the White House this morning. Officials say Obama will take questions in the East Room. The event comes one week before the president's ceremonial swearing-in and inaugural address for a second term. Among the issues the president is expected to address are looming fiscal fights with Congress, particularly over raising the nation's debt limit, and his administration's efforts to curb gun violence.
