Morning Glories: New year, new works

December 31, 2012

ST. PAUL, Minn. — We're noting another short week of Morning Glories, (our 10 a.m. weekday rouser) noting the start of a new year with some starter works — or at least, Opus Ones — by great composers; and a notable recording from 2012 for the end of the year.

Monday

Debussy's Suite Bergamasque (recorded by pianist Inon Barnatan on his Avie recital)

Tuesday

New Year's Concert, Live from Vienna

Wednesday

Brahms: Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 1

Thursday

Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 1

Friday

Beethoven: Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 1

And each of them will be followed up by another Opus One, for a little extra.
