LISTEN

Yesterday on The Daily Circuit, we spoke about education policy at the federal level, and what we can expect during President Obama's second term.

On Thursday, Dec. 27, we'll come down to the state level and look at what we might expect from lawmakers on the topic of education funding when they return to the Capitol next month.

School funding could play a large role in the current conversations in the state about the tax system overhaul. Tom Bakk, the incoming Senate majority leader, has said he wants to make sure that happens.

We're going to talk about 2013 state education funding with two people who will be part of these conversations at the state Capitol this year: Rep. Paul Marquart, D-Dilworth, and Rep. Kelby Woodard, R-Belle Plain. We'll look at what programs and areas are receiving the most funding and what areas our state is falling short.
