The lockout of The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra musicians is entering its third month with no end in sight.

On MPR News last week, Hugh Wolff, the chamber orchestra's conductor and music director until 2000, said he was optimistic the dispute will be settled.

"Each side has a narrative, it's not like you're going to convince the other side that you're completely wrong and they're completely right," Wolff told Tom Crann of All Things Considered. "The thrust of what people from the outside, I suggest, should be doing, is getting people to listen to each other."

Dobson West, president and managing director of SPCO, will join The Daily Circuit Wednesday, Dec. 26 to discuss the main sticking points in the negotiations. Lynn Erickson, second trumpet of the SPCO, will also join the discussion.
