Customers complain of Wells Fargo online services slow downby Martin Moylan, Minnesota Public Radio
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Many Wells Fargo customers have been having trouble accessing the bank's online services.
SiteDown.co, which tracks websites that are slow or out of commission has received about 1,200 complaints about Wells Fargo's website this week.
A Wells Fargo spokeswoman said the bank's website is seeing an unusually high volume of traffic. The traffic is characteristic of cyberattacks meant to deny access to a site by overwhelming it. But the spokeswoman would not say if the bank believes it has been experiencing a denial or service attack.
Peggy Gunn of Wells Fargo said some customers are experiencing slow or intermittent website access. But Gunn said the vast majority of customers are not affected.
Gunn advised customers who cannot connect to the website to access accounts through bank offices, ATMs and phones.
