Can Best Buy match online prices and remain profitable?by Cathy Wurzer, Minnesota Public Radio
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The holiday shopping season is a crucial time for retailers. That's especially true this year for Best Buy.
The company is struggling mightily and yesterday Best Buy reported dismal sales and profits for the quarter that ended Nov. 3 as the stock price fell by 13 percent.
In an effort to compete with online merchants over the holidays, Best Buy is now matching the prices that consumers find on the Internet.
Joining MPR's Cathy Wurzer to discuss that strategy and the future of Best Buy is Brian Yarbrough, an analyst with Edward Jones.
