Retailers' Black Friday ads begin to appearby Martin Moylan, Minnesota Public Radio
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Target will join other retailers in letting shoppers get an even earlier crack at Black Friday bargains.
Target officials are not commenting, but what appear to be copies of the retailer's Black Friday ad are popping up on the Internet. The ad indicates Target stores will greet customers at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. A Target spokesman would not confirm or deny the ad's authenticity or discuss store hours.
Arch-rival Walmart will start its Black Friday specials at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. Most Walmart stores will open Thanksgiving morning. Best Buy will open its stores at midnight, as Thanksgiving Day ends and Black Friday begins, same as last year. Macy's and Kohl's also plan midnight openings. Sears stores will welcome shoppers at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Kmart stores will be ready for shoppers early Thanksgiving morning.
