ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Basilica of St Mary isn't the boomy sort of room for which Haydn conceived his more than 100 symphonies, but the Minnesota Sinfonia makes it work deliciously. Led by Jay Fishman, the orchestra, which always performs without charge, is heard in a October 27th concert that featured the Haydn 88th. The acoustic lets you enjoy the suave elegance of the ensemble all the more.
