Is is time for Dylan to end his endless tour?
by Jim Bickal, Minnesota Public RadioST. PAUL, Minn. — One of the most celebrated musicians alive today, Bob Dylan, performs tomorrow night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. But unlike the Madonna and Springsteen concerts at the X this week, fans at the Dylan show will see lots of empty seats. Demand for tickets to the St. Paul concert has been weak. Reviewers of other recent Dylan shows report relatively small crowds as well.
Lackluster ticket sales and the noticeable deterioration of Dylan's voice have some observers suggesting that perhaps it's time for the Minnesota native to take a break from his so-called Never Ending Tour. Jim Bickal, producer of "Boy From the North Country: Bob Dylan in Minnesota," discussed that notion with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer.
