Morning Glories - Dominick Argento

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Every weekday morning at 10 a.m., the hosts at Classical MPR play a stand-out work based on the theme for the week. We call them Morning Glories. This week, we celebrate Dominick Argento, who turns 85 on October 27.

We'll hear his "Six Elizabethan Songs," one of his most popular works; we'll hear choral and orchestral music performed by Minnesota ensembles; and we'll end up with a treat: "Royal Invitation: Homage to the Queen of Tonga."
