In a recent column in The Guardian, conservative commentator Matt K. Lewis says that Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney's gaffe-prone campaign is not the only problem facing the GOP. He says that the party faces a much deeper crisis of identity and ideas.

"In case you haven't noticed, there's a big problem in the GOP," Lewis wrote. "If the primaries didn't establish this (see Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, et al), then Mitt Romney's so-called "rolling calamity" of a general election campaign certainly has. In the midst of an incredibly important election to determine the future of America, the Republican party is in the throes of an identity crisis."

Lewis will join The Daily Circuit Tuesday to discuss the state of the Republican Party. Ed Morrissey, writer for conservative blog Hot Air, will also join the discussion.
