GM recalls granola bars possibly tainted by salmonella
General Mills is recalling some of its Cascadian Farm-brand granola bars which may contain peanuts from a producer linked to a salmonella outbreak, according to the company.
The products included in the recall are five varieties of Cascadian Farm granola bars. They have "Better if Used By" dates of Nov. 1 and 2 of this year.
The snacks were produced in February, according to General Mills, and may no longer be on store shelves. The company directs customers to check their pantries.
The peanuts in the granola bars came from Sunland. Last month, Sunland recalled a variety of products after at least 30 people across the country, including a Twin Cities resident, were sickened with salmonella after eating Trader Joe's peanut butter.
Sunland has now expanded its recall to 240 products.
