ST. PAUL, Minn. —
The Rose Ensemble has built a reputation around authentic and well-researched performances, but that doesn't describe what the experience is when you go to a concert and immerse yourself in the soundscape created. You feel like you've time-traveled to another place and time, another completely foreign sensibility.
But the journey is so right and classy, you can't help but completely let yourself go into the Rose's capable hands and capable voices.
This weekend, The Rose Ensemble invites one of the finest English groups — Voces 8 — to join them for the North American premiere of an ethereal work from the Renaissance — Missa Ave Virgo Sanctissima by Gery de Ghersem.
Rose Ensemble Music Director and Founder Jordan Sramek stopped by to share some of the music and tell us why this is a concert we shouldn't miss.
