St. Paul, Minn. — Franz Waxman was a German born composer who was perhaps best known for his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, and for his iconic score to The Bride of Frankenstein. In a totally different genre, he gave the same chilling effect in the score of Sunset Boulevard, the story of the mental disintegration of a once famous and beloved silent film star.
