Economic Lookout: Health care reform is priority concern for restaurant owner

ST. PAUL, Minn. — As Election Day nears, the main issue of this campaign continues to be the economy.
The MPR News series "Economic Lookouts" gives voice to how some Minnesota voters feel about the current state of the economy. Our lookouts are members of our Public Insight Network to whom we reach out in these weeks leading up to the election.
For restaurant owner Naomi Williamson, health care reform is a concern of priority. Williamson is part-owner of the restaurant, Sanctuary, in downtown Minneapolis, and said she plans to vote for Barack Obama.
In its five-year history, Sanctuary has had a rough go. It opened on Aug. 1, 2007, the same day the Interstate 35W bridge collapsed. Then the financial crisis of 2008 hit and like the rest of the country, patrons in the Twin Cities cut back on dining out.
In spite it all, Sanctuary's doors are still open and Williamson says things are looking up.
