Moderate, conservative Republicans deeply divided in Kansas

Primary elections are being held Tuesday in Kansas following months of deeply divisive campaigning within the Republican party.

"The conservatives, they hate the moderate Republicans" said Burdett A. Loomis, a political science professor at the University of Kansas, in a recent New York Times article. "They think they really have conspired with Democrats and have prevented conservative forces from their rightful place of dominating the government."
