Anti-bullying task force member answers questions about recommendationsby Cathy Wurzer, Minnesota Public Radio
A task force charged with examining the state's policy on bullying has finished its work. Minnesota's Task Force on the Prevention of School Bullying will deliver its report to Gov. Mark Dayton tomorrow.
As we've reported, Minnesota's current policy is considered weak and doesn't even define what constitutes bullying. The task force report includes a definition which describes bullying as anything that makes students feel unsafe or hurts them physically or emotionally. The report also calls on schools to improve tracking and reporting of bullying incidents.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with task force co-chair Walter Roberts, who's also a professor of counseling at Minnesota State in Mankato.
