MPR News' ATC Friday Festival is back

St. Paul, Minn. — This weekend, historical re-enactors will gather for the Cannon River Rendezvous in Stanton, Minn., which is about eight miles east of Northfield. These buckskinners, voyageurs and trappers will portray the 18th and 19th century's economically vibrant fur trade.

But if you're looking for a more "refined" experience this weekend, the Three Rivers Wine Trail presents its annual "Tap the Barrel" event this Saturday and Sunday. Stop by wineries in Chisago City, Stillwater, Red Wing, or Cannon Falls between noon to 5 p.m. to sample the latest vintage.

In Duluth, a battle of the bands - jugbands, that is. It's the 14th annual celebration of Old Tyme String Band Music at the Amazing Grace Bakery and Cafe. Attendees on Saturday evening should consider bringing a jug for the Open Jug Jam.
