Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed to test strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie, the organization's website says. Athletes took up the challenge over the weekend in Somerset, Wis.

A common theme throughout most of the obstacles at Tough Mudder Minnesota was helping your fellow Mudder. The event organizers do not post finishing times, saying it dampens the camaraderie and teamwork, which they said the event is all about.
