Storm Ready: Is the Twin Cities metro prepared for a tornado?

For our hypothetical tornado, classes at the school would be over and most students and staff would be gone for the day.

But Edina High hosts concerts, plays, sporting events and other events in the late afternoon and evening with potentially hundreds of people needing to find shelter.

Patrons at the school's Edina Performing Arts Center would be evacuated to the nearest second floor halls, which are designated storm shelter areas.

People on the grounds outdoors would be warned of the storm's approach by the organizers of those events and would take cover inside the building.
