Woman dies in apparent suicide at Hennepin County jail

A woman being held at Hennepin County jail in Minneapolis died on Monday.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that suicide was the apparent cause of her death.

The 25-year-old had been held in the jail for about one month on a charge of aggravated robbery. She had originally been arrested by Bloomington Police.

She was found unresponsive at about 1 p.m., and pronounced dead at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office isn't releasing her name yet.
