St. Paul, Minn. —
Jerry Goldsmith's big Hollywood studio break came when a very famous film music composer from 20 Century Fox heard some of Jerry's TV music and recommended him to take the help at Universal Studios.
Goldsmith wrote many great scores, but his haunting music for Patton stand out of the crowd. He also provided music for another military biopic, Macarthur starring Gregory Peck. In "The Generals' March" George Patton and Douglas Macarthur meet in music.
