University of Minnesota women golfers in 1939

University of Minnesota president Lotus Coffman was able to convince the school's regents to approve the purchase of the Minnepau golf course in 1926 by insisting that adequate recreational facilities would lead to "morality, clean living, good sportsmanship, high ideals, and even studentship."
