"Avant Cellist" tonight at the Cedar

St. Paul, Minn. — Imagine this scene: one beautiful women and her cello on stage. As she plays, she uses her foot to control a laptop that records her sound and then layers it, layers some more and then plays music with those sounds she's created. And the result? Riveting, haunting, simple but oh, so profound and that explains why she has become an iTunes sensation with a huge social media following and nearly 50,000 of her CD's sold.

Zoe Keating plays tonight at the Cedar Cultural Center and stopped by to chat with me and share some of her latest recordings.

We're also happy to offer a free download of her performance of a piece called "Optimist."
