Minnesota boy, father found after nearly 2 weeks
A Minnesota boy who went missing with his father nearly two weeks ago has been found safe.
The Duluth News Tribune reports Sunday that 7-year-old Wyatt Nordrum of Brookston, and his dad, 41-year-old James Leon Nordrum Jr., were found Saturday in the Stoney Brook area of St. Louis County. Sheriff's officials say tips from the public helped.
Wyatt was allegedly kidnapped March 27 by James Nordrum, who is in a custody battle with Wyatt's mother.
Nordrum's attorney, Terri Port Wright, says the boy was uninjured and is reunited with his mother. Port Wright says Wyatt was safe the whole time.
But Port Wright says Nordrum hurt himself when he learned authorities were closing in. She didn't have the nature of his injuries, but says he is in intensive care after surgery for self-inflicted wounds.
