The Brick offers refunds for inaugural show
by Martin Moylan, Minnesota Public RadioST. PAUL, Minn. — A new nightclub in downtown Minneapolis that was touted as a premiere concert facility is trying to make amends for a very bad opening night.
The Brick nightclub is apologizing to folks who attended its opening night show Monday, which featured Jane's Addiction. Concert-goers chastised the club for inadequate bathrooms, poor sight lines, overcrowding, rude security staff and other problems.
In a posting on the club's website, general manager Jeff Kehr told patrons the club owes them an apology. He wrote, "Live music experiences represent some of the greatest moments of our lives and, this was obviously not one of ours. ... We have an obligation to make this right for our customers."
Ticket holders are being offered the choice of a refund, including service fees, or tickets to an upcoming show.
Kehr said the club is committed to making the changes required to ensure future concert experiences are much more enjoyable.
