March 13, 2012

St. Paul, Minn. — Classical MPR is proud to announce that our 2011-2012 Artist-in-Residence Chad Hoopes has won the Audience Award at the prestigous music festival Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The festival, which takes place in various parks, churches and castles in the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is often abbreviated as Meck-Pomm.

Performing at Festspiele MV at the recommendation of previous Meck-Pomm award winner Daniel Hope, Chad received the award for a performance in Nossentin, Germany with pianist Mara Mednick. He hopes to return to perform at Festspiele MV in future seasons.

Please join all of us at Classical MPR in congratulating Chad on this receiving this amazing honor and in celebrating the continued excellence of his musicianship.
