ST. PAUL, Minn. — The king and queen of Sweden will visit Minnesota in October, the American Swedish Institute announced Friday.

The two-day visit by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will include stops at Gustavus Adolphus College on Oct. 5 and the American Swedish Institute on Oct. 6.

The visit will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Gustavus Adolphus College by Swedish immigrants and the dedication of the Carl and Leslie Nelson Cultural Center at the American Swedish Institute.

The Institute said "a limited number of tickets" will be available for a chapel service at the College and the Institute's dedication ceremony. It plans to release more details in May, according to a news release Friday.
