ST. PAUL, Minn — A deal in Congress over extending the payroll tax holiday is pending. President Barack Obama traveled to Wisconsin to tout manufacturing in that state. U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Tuesday defended the President's budget before the House Ways and Means Committee, which writes tax legislation.

Minnesota's Rep. Erik Paulsen, R-District 3, sits on that committee and spoke with MPR News about a number of developments, including the President's push to improve trade and create jobs.
