Regional Spotlight: Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Solo Competition

St. Paul, Minn. — The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra features a Young Artist Solo Competition. This years finalists were all wonderful high-school aged musicians from the area. Their performances from the final round of the competition, recorded at Concordia College in Moorhead on January 8, are in this week's Regional Spotlight.

The performers and the pieces performed (with their accompanists) are as follows:

Trudy Johnson, French horn, Concerto No. 2 in Eb Major, W.A. Mozart (Bruce Houglum)

Kai Johnson, marimba, Concerto for Marimba, Mvt 4, Ney Rosauro (Michael Olson)
Jenny Sun, piano, Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Mvt 3, Saint-Saens (Sue Nagel)
