In Rochester, Santorum knocks Romney on health care

Rochester, Minn. — Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum visited Rochester Monday morning, ahead of Tuesday's caucuses.

In a speech at the Kahler Grand Hotel in downtown Rochester, the former Pennsylvania senator criticized his rival Mitt Romney's health care plan in Massachusetts for its similarities to the new federal health care policy changes.

"The fundamental problem with Romneycare and Obamacare is that it dealt with access not cost," Santorum said. "In fact, it put in things we know will increase costs."

Health care is the most fundamental issue of the campaign, Santorum said, adding that Romney is 'unqualified' on the issue.

Santorum said he's been working on health care issues for more than 20 years and is committed to making sure Americans are given freedom to make their own health care choices.

The GOP contenders face caucuses Tuesday in Minnesota and Colorado.
