Avon, Minn. (AP) — A semi lost control in Stearns County and hit a sheriff's squad, injuring a deputy.
The West Central Tribune reports the deputy was treated and released at a St. Cloud hospital after the crash. It happened around 4:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 94 in Avon Township.
In news release, Sheriff John Sanner said Deputy Steve Mathews was seated in the squad that was parked along the shoulder with the emergency lights activated when the semitrailer truck hit the squad.
Mathews and the State Patrol were responding to another accident.
