St. Paul, Minn. — In the past decade Cass McCombs has recorded six full-length albums, toured pretty much constantly and even got a nod from John Peel who called him, "unobtrusively brilliant." He's an artist that has been able to hover on the verge while staying mysterious and entirely indie and has created a growing base of fans across the world in the process.

Born and raised in California, Cass personifies the nomadic lifestyle made famous in Jack Kerouac's On The Road, living mostly in his car as he travels across the nation making music and searching for the meaning of life. This quest has him taking on the personality of different down-trodden characters in his albums. His most recent record, Humor Risk, is just as dark but manages to be suprisingly upbeat at the same time.

Songs played: "Robin Egg Blue," "County Line," and "Love Thine Enemy."
